Big Sur, Calif., Oct. 29, 2012: Big Sur, or “the big south,” named because of its location south of the Monterey Peninsula, overlooks the Pacific Ocean and features the 105-mile Santa Lucia Mountain Range. As a result, this place has one of the most amazing campsites around. It’s a trek to get up the beast of a road leading to the site, but totally worth it. The site overlooks the ocean and is at such a high elevation that it sits just above the cloud line. We happened to be there on the full moon and didn’t even bother making a fire because it was so warm and bright. If only I had my damn tripod!
I will definitely be going back there.
